ANN ARBOR -- Khalid Hill might have lined up at fullback the final two seasons of his college career.
But the outgoing Michigan senior wants NFL teams to know he's not married to the position.
"You just try to be as versatile as possible," Hill said Friday in Ann Arbor after Michigan's pro day.
"You have to bring many things to the table; you can't just be a one-dimensional guy."
Hill, a 6-foot-2, 263-pound Detroit native, says he's going a lot of questions from NFL scouts about where he prefers to play. Before switching to fullback prior to the 2016 season, he spent time at tight end.
"Athlete," Hill said. "Don't just mark me down as a guy that plays fullback. Fullback. Tight end. Running back.
"Whatever they want me to be, I can be."
However, Hill had his pro-day workout cut short thanks to a hamstring injury he suffered a week prior training. He couldn't do any running, and could only partake in the bench press, lifting 225 pounds a total of 21 times.
"At 17, I (accidentally) racked one side and the other came down," Hill said. "I thought they'd help me get it back up, but he said, 'No, you've got to do it yourself.' So that took a few reps out of me.
"But it is what it is. I got in the 20s -- that's what I wanted to do, so I'm happy.
Hill isn't projected to be taken in next month's NFL draft, but he ranks top-five among available fullbacks on most draft experts' boards. The position just isn't an emphasized one, making it difficult for guys like him to get noticed.
Which is why he's made it a point to tell anyone who will listen that he can play more than just fullback. In his final two seasons at Michigan, Hill rushed for 73 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 21 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns.
"I don't want to be a one-dimensional guy," Hill said. "Because in the league, it's not going to cut it. I can play tight end. I can play running back. I can play fullback.
